Responsibilities:
Develop and manage project scope, schedules, and budgets.
Review, update and approve technical drawings, PFDs, and P&IDs for plant modifications.
Work as process engineers to optimize plant design and process flow.
Review PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
Performing process reviews and recommend improvements to increase capacity / efficiency / consistency / reliability.
Coordinate all plant improvement and modification activities. Prepare detailed engineering design, prepare specifications and requisitions for major equipment purchase, review of vendors’ document, conduct hazard analysis, performance tests and commissioning activities.
Perform basic engineering design, prepare marked up P&ID’s and the required technical information.
Ensure all projects comply with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
Conduct risk assessments (HAZOP, LOPA) and implement safety improvements.
Work closely with EHS teams to maintain high safety standards.
Perform hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA) for construction tasks.
Ensure proper implementation of construction safety best practices.
Develop commissioning plans and oversee plant startup activities.
Train operations and maintenance personnel on new systems.
Make process simulation calculations to evaluate existing plant operating conditions. Make recommendation for any corrective measure needed to optimize plant operation.
Prepare final project reports and document lessons learned for organizational knowledge sharing and suggest improvements for future projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
Min 5 years of experience in engineering project management within the specialty chemicals, petrochemical, or related industries.
Strong knowledge of chemical plant design, construction, and process equipment.
Experience with project management tools (AutoCAD, MS Project, etc.).
Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools (2D AutoCAD).
Understanding of industry codes and standards (API, ASME, NFPA, etc.).
Proactively identify and manage project risks, including those related to delays, resource shortages, and unforeseen technical challenges.
Proven track record of successfully managing projects from the detail engineering, construction, commissioning, start-up, and completion handover.
Ability to work independently & effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
Possess relevant digital skills to collect, analyze and visualize data such as Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, Power BI, SQL.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various departments and external partners.
Proactive in problem-solving and a strong decision-maker in high-pressure situations.
