Assist the Chief Internal Auditor (CIA) in preparation of the Annual Audit Plan (AAP) based on risk based audit approach and concept on audit universe and obtain approval from BAC and SC for implementation.
Managing of the audit reports and the auditable entities in the audit plan as approved by the BAC and SC.
Submit and present Shariah audit report to the Shariah Committee and assist CIA to prepare the tabling of Shariah Audit Report to the BAC.
Ensure quality, accuracy, timeliness and comprehensiveness of reports.
Manage the execution of audit plan timely.
Ensure audits are conducted based on audit plan and ensure that the actual cost incurred is properly managed as compared to the proposed budget duly approved by the BAC and SC.
Ensure audits are effectively conducted and scopes are proper in accordance with the risk based audit approach.
Ensure findings and recommendations to rectify findings are accurate, specific and practical.
Ensure Manager supervises on the audit and team activities (resources).
Chair the exit meeting with the audit clients, and highlight the issues and recommendations to rectify them with the management.
Establish/Manage relationship and communication with the following Stakeholders:
Board Audit Committee
Board of Director
Bank Negara Malaysia
Other duties and responsibilities.
Perform special audit reviews/other ad hoc / assignments as directed by the BNM, BAC, SC and/or BOD and/or Senior Management.
Develop new or improve existing audit program, standards/techniques and Audit Work Guide/ SOP where applicable to achieve efficiency, and review the audit work performed/working papers.
Develop and maintain the latest methodologies/frameworks with regard to Internal Audit functions e.g. Collaborative Auditing Framework, Data Analytic Framework, Fraud Management Framework, COSO Framework, COBIT 5.0 Framework, QAIP procedures, and/or to develop any other methodologies/framework in accordance with IPPF and IIA Standards as assigned by CIA from time to time.
Organise and direct day to day administrative running of the GAD including budget, staff claims, staff training and development, audit client survey etc.
Assess the soundness and adequacy of the Bank’s internal control system.
Evaluate the organization’s compliance with internal policies, Bank Negara guidelines, BNM’s SAC resolutions, SC resolutions and other related laws.
Undertake other tasks relating to overall work scope, as may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Management.
Act as resource person and trainer at training center with regard to internal control matters.
Provide insight, foresight and advice in reviewing the bank’s policies and procedures pertaining to risk management, governance, ethic, integrity etc.
Comply and report on Anti Money Laundering (AMLA), connected parties, frauds & defalcations (including attempted frauds), breaches of Employee Code of Conduct, robberies and burglaries.
Perform any other duties & responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Shariah or relevant fields, and in possession of relevant professional qualifications fulfilling the regulatory requirements (if any).
Higher tertiary education e.g. PHD, MBA and/or professional certification e.g. Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA), Certified Professional Shariah Auditor (CPSA), CIAFIN / CBA / CCP/ CIFP etc. is an added advantage.
A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Islamic Banking and Shariah related function in financial institutions and had assumed management positions.
Knowledgeable in Shariah, Islamic financial products and operations.
Equipped with business acumen, as well as experience in accounting policies, local regulations, business practices, governance, risk management, compliances, credit, operations, and business strategy.
Strong financial and business knowledge gained from working closely with business managers in management committees, strategic business reviews, Senior Management interactions is preferred.
Strong strategic, logical, analytical and critical thinking skills derived from audit and business planning reviews, financial performance reviews, risk assessments, etc.
Strong leadership and assertiveness.
Excellent command of Bahasa Malaysia and English, both written and oral. Effective writing/communication (including cross cultural), presentation, persuasion and negotiation skills.
Good professional ethics and occupational track records.
